Family Area – Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival

Family Area

The Family Area at Arts in the Heart, located on the North Side of the 700 block of Broad street, is full of interactive fun for kids and adults alike! Local organizations will be providing craft activities and games that are great for the whole family. There’s even a scavenger hunt that families can play to win prizes in the activity booths! Keep an eye out for this year’s street performers, too, as they entertain visitors with exciting acts in fun costumes! Make sure to check out the Young Artist’s Market while you’re there, too!

Thank you to the 2016 Family Area Sponsors. These groups made our family area fun and inviting! Please visit their websites.

Young Artist Market
We love Young Artists, and we provide an opportunity for them to help give them a start in their future career in the arts! The Young Artist Market is open to any school-age artist. Applications will be available on this page in May 2017. Click here to learn more about the Young Artist Market Guidelines.

We are always grateful for volunteers who love to work with kids and families! Volunteers in the Family Area help the Family Area Sponsors with their craft activities, help run games and interactive elements of the area, and help distribute prizes to participants in the “Family Area Scavenger Hunt.” Click here to sign up to volunteer.

Family Area Activities
Every year at Arts in the Heart of Augusta we offer free space in the festival to local businesses and organizations to host a children’s activity booth. This is a great way to reach over 3,000 families as the enjoy the festival! To learn more about sponsoring a Family Area Activity booth, contact Christina Berkshire at
